This is our Scorpio Productions institutional logo and Post Mortem productions logo. Both of these logos have a black background, holding connotations of death. The red writing connotes danger and blood. These connotations will create a sinister atmosphere, mirroring the mood of the film and informing the audience that this film contains dark acts. The white used in the Post Mortem connotes the innocence of some of the characters, and suggests to the audience that this film will include an innocent protagonist.
Both of these logos as simple as we are producing an independent film and therefor do not have a lot of money to spend on producing a logo. Both of them are animated as they are the first thing the audience will see and therefore need to grab their attention. The scorpion moves quickly across the screen as that is how people in vision scorpions and also connotes that the film will be fast paced. This is further enhanced by the quick flashing used in the logo bellow.
Originally, the Scorpio Productions logo was going to have the scorpion running across sand. We decided not to include this, in order to make our logo more simplistic and to keep the colors conventional to a psychological thriller.
The Post Mortem Pictures logo was originally going to have the words revolve around each other. However, research has shown me that this is not conventional of a psychological thriller, and therefore decided to keep the animation more simplistic to keep it conventional.
