Audition Script

We are going to hold auditions for the cast of our film. The script will be the same for each person playing the same character. This will mean that we can compare the same skills of each actor so we can assess who would be the best person for the role.
The person auditioning for the role of the main protagonist will deliver the following section of the script. We have taken all of the stage directions out, allowing us to ask the person to deliver the lines in certain ways, allowing us to see their ability to act and follow directions. It will also allow us to see their interpretation of the character.

Ok it’s been a month now, where are you? I need you here. I need you to look after me. I bet your friends put you up to this didn’t they! I’ve never approved of them; they were always a bad influence. When I find them-. I’m sorry I didn’t mean that. Just come hope ok?

The character of Penny will not have to deliver many lines as she is only a minor character who does not feature a lot in our opening. We will have her walking with her friend who will just need to be able to act casually but confused when the man calls out her friends name. Penny will turn when her name is called and we will ask her to look worried. This is all we need this actor to be able to do.
