Amy Bowman was a highly considered auditionee. She is studying Performing Arts and Drama, which shows she can follow direction. However, she does not fit the image of the way we invisioned Penny to look and is also studying media and therefore we did not have enough frees together to film.
Caitlin looked liked we wanted Penny to, and was able to give the evil look we wanted to achieve. For these reasons, we considered casting her.
We also considered casting Imogene, as she too had the characteristics we envisioned Penny having. She is also studying Performing Arts, and therefore can follow direction. However, we were limited as to when we could film her due to a lack of frees together.
We decided to cast Louise because she also looks how we imagined Penny, studies Performing Arts and is in the school performance and can therefore follow direction. Initially, we thought filming may be a problem because she is unable to film after school due to other commitments. However, because she is in the year above has more frees and we could then work out a filming schedule from there.
